Most church going Catholic parents in countries with a high level of education use contraceptives. Their example shows that a responsible use of contraception does not stand in the way of being good Catholics.

Most Catholics in western countries, also conscientious Catholics and church goers, approve of artificial birth control.

This is important:

1. It reveals the 'sense of faith' as experienced by believers.

2. It shows that the traditional doctrine against contraception has not been 'received by the faithful'.
